ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

melanin muse® is looking for a creative, curious, and digitally savvy intern to help us grow our reach and deepen our connection with our audience.

This is an opportunity to get hands-on experience supporting the marketing of a growing media and travel platform centered on Black women, culture, curiosity, and meaningful experiences around the world. The Digital Marketing Intern will work across social media, email, content promotion, audience research, and campaign strategy — helping turn ideas and editorial content into marketing that reaches the right people.

If you’re interested in how brands build community, create content people actually want to engage with, and use data to better understand their audience, this role will give you the opportunity to explore all of that in a collaborative, creative environment.

Position Type: Remote Internship (Part-Time)

Reports To: Creative Director

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Digital Marketing Intern, you’ll support the day-to-day marketing efforts behind melanin muse® and contribute ideas that help us grow.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with the planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns
  • Creating engaging social media content and supporting content promotion
  • Drafting email newsletters and other audience communications
  • Helping promote editorial content, travel experiences, and other melanin muse® initiatives
  • Researching audience interests, digital trends, and emerging opportunities
  • Supporting paid marketing campaigns and promotional efforts
  • Monitoring engagement and performance across digital channels
  • Reviewing analytics and identifying insights that can inform future content and campaigns
  • Bringing fresh marketing ideas to the table
  • Collaborating with editorial and creative teams on integrated campaigns and initiatives

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who is curious about digital marketing and excited to learn how strategy, creativity, content, and audience insights work together to build a brand.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Marketing, Communications, Business, Media, or a related field
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital content trends
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar creative tools is a plus
  • A basic understanding of SEO, digital marketing analytics, or audience insights is helpful
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An interest in media, travel, culture, or building digital communities is a plus

is looking for a curious, thoughtful, and creative Staff Writer Intern to help tell stories that inform, inspire, and reflect the experiences of women of color around the world.

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience inside a growing digital media platform where storytelling sits at the intersection of travel, culture, wellness, creativity, and the lived experiences that connect us. As a Staff Writer Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in the editorial process from idea to publication—researching stories, developing pitches, conducting interviews, writing articles, and collaborating with the team to bring meaningful stories to life.

If you’re an aspiring journalist, writer, storyteller, or communications professional who is curious about people and the world around you, this role will give you the opportunity to strengthen your reporting and writing skills while building a body of published work.

Position Type: Remote Internship (Part-Time)

Reports To: Head of Global Storytelling

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Staff Writer Intern, you’ll help develop editorial content that reflects the mission, voice, and evolving coverage of melanin muse®.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Researching timely topics, emerging trends, and story ideas relevant to women of color and our global community
  • Pitching original article ideas and collaborating with the editorial team to develop them
  • Conducting interviews with entrepreneurs, creatives, community leaders, changemakers, and other compelling voices
  • Researching, reporting, writing, and editing digital articles for publication
  • Assisting with fact-checking, proofreading, and other editorial processes
  • Participating in editorial meetings and contributing story ideas and creative perspectives
  • Meeting publication deadlines while maintaining accuracy, quality, and attention to detail
  • Collaborating with photographers, designers, and marketing contributors when needed to support the presentation and promotion of editorial work

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with a genuine curiosity about people, culture, and the stories worth telling. You don’t need to know everything about journalism or digital publishing — we’re looking for someone eager to learn, receptive to feedback, and excited to develop their voice and skills as a writer.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, Marketing, or a related field
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent research abilities and attention to accuracy
  • An understanding of — or interest in learning — journalistic standards and editorial best practices
  • Familiarity with AP Style is a plus
  • Experience with WordPress or another content management system is helpful, but not required
  • An interest in travel, culture, wellness, creativity, community, or storytelling centered on women of color is a plus
